Lunch

At my school we have two lunches. At 11:00 we have our first break and at 1:30 we have our second break. For our first break I normally have Nutella, Sandwiches, Biscuits and cheese, and a Fruit Poppa. For second break I normally have an Orange. We have our lunches in lunchboxes. On Monday and Thursday Tuckshop is available. You can have tuckshop if you want it, it cost's money so I only have it sometimes.

Camp

On Wednesday grade 6 and grade 5 went to Stradbroke Island for camp. We did lots of activities such as Swimming, Canoeing, Raft Building, Touch Tanks, Orienteering and more.
We left on Friday afternoon and came and went on a Barge. I learnt how to throw a Boomerang and also how to build a sinking raft ( i'm good at that ).

Kim Michelle Toft

On Monday Kim Michelle Toft came to our school. She is an artist and she is also an author of childrens books. She paints ocean and only ocean, but she paints them really well. She painted a fish right in front of us and it was awesome!

Our class have finished Dragon Keeper and we are now up to Garden of the Purple Dragon.
Ancient China, Han Dynasty. Ping thinks she is safe hiding in the shadow of the Tai Shan mountains. Here she struggles for Kai, the baby dragon she is responsible for. Art Show

On Saturday it was the school art show. If you made something in art lessons for the art show then you can buy it. My class painted pots, they were $10 each. All of the pots were good and really creative. At the art sow there was food, drinks, art, my classes pots, cakes and tonnes more...

Wacky Wardrobe !!

This Friday is Wacky Wardrobe! Which is a day where we can dress up in anything CRAZY! Me and Izzy are dressing in really colourful clothes! We can dress up as anything! It will be soooooo fun! It is to raise money for the school Art Show. Everybody has to bring in a gold coin!

Mrs J is reading Dragon Keeper by Carole Wilkinson to our class. We have read 20 chapters out of 24. I like this book and think I should read the second one when we're finished reading the first one. My favourite character is Ping because she is the Dragon Keeper. I also like the Dragon, Long Danzie and Wa Pings pet rat. This book is full of excitement and adventure. I also think it's really good because I love Chinese books because they are so fun to hear.

I am reading Hope Bay by Nicole Plüss!

Im going to show you the blurb just in case you want to know what its about:

I have only read up to Chapter 3 but I am already in love with this book!
Olga used to live in Holland but planes came and nobody knew why they were there, they just stared up at the sky and waited, until the planes started dropping bombs and everybody got scared and ran away from there hometown. What annoys me about the book is that the author doesn't really tell you about Olga or the other characters, but as if i'm going to give up on the book because of that! There is 268 pages and if you look at the book it looks like it will take ages, but its got quite big words and I have been reading it pretty fast!

Ekka

On Wednesday I went to the Ekka with my friend Izzy. We went on 2 rides which were the Haunted Mansion and another one. THEY WERE SCARY! Well to me and Izzy they were. When you were in the ride someone would come out of nowhere and scare you. We saw the BIG blow up Nova logo, and Izzy took a photo of it! We went to the cars section and sat in some really awesome cars! We ate fairy floss and Dip & Dots and icecream! We saw the dogs, there wasn't as much dogs as there were last year. In the end we finally got our showbags. Izzy got Hubba Bubba, Trolli and Hello Kitty! I got Hello Kitty, Sour Warheads, Cadbury and another one but I forgot the name!
Me and Izzy went on the chairlift and it was really scary! It seemed we were going to fall off! When we were on them you could easily lift up the bar that was holding you in. Izzy would not let go of the pole!

Preps - Year 2 Sports Carnival

Today preps, year one's and year two's had a sports carnival. The houses were Red, Blue and Gold! They did races and relays, and lots more. There was a parents race at the end and Jaiden and Taylor raced in it with other parents. Red won! But I am in Blue so I think Blue should of won!

The Ekka is starting

On Thursday the 9th of August the exhibition will be starting. It goes for 10 days the 9-18th of August. There is showbags, dog shows, horse shows and lot's more...
There are so many showbags, over 100! Theres always shows! In Sideshow Ally theres lots of rides and games. Its REALLY fun!

Talent Show

Jaiden, Izzy, Daniel, Emily, Nero, Alex, Ally, and I got into the schools talent show. Jaiden, Daniel, Emily, Alex, and Ally will be making a human pyramid and Nero will be standing on top. Me and Izzy were going to do a dance while they make the pyramid except I can't do it anymore because I won't be there and Izz can't do it without me.

Districts

Grandparents Day

On Thursday it was grandparents day and all the grandparents of kids from school came and we had a assemblies for them. The first assembly was for grandparents whos last name was from A-L. Then the second time it was exactly the same thing except with other grandparents whos last names were from M-Z. Me and my friend Izzy didnt have grandparents so we had to sing and do the assembly twice! It was fun and at the end of the day when the grandparents left we had to clean up biscuits and cakes and we got to have some.

The Ned Show

On Wednesday at school the Ned Show was there. It was fun and interesting. The man presenting it called Tim was really good at yo yo tricks. He could do walk the dog and an alien spaceship, and the Eiffel tower and lot's more. He showed us lots of tricks. There was a girl from grade 7 who on 2 prizes, the prizes were a balloon crown and it was so cool, and a eally cool yo yo. Almost everyone at school has a yo yo and are using them at lunch time. There was one trick that was banned and that was around the world because it could hit people.

Andrew Chinn

Today our class had a workshop with Andrew Chinn. He is a songwriter, musician, and a singer. He asked people to come up from our class to sing with him. We were there with Years 5-7. It was really fun! At the end of the day we had a whole school concert and everyone from school was there. We got to sing and dance on stage!

Weekly Reading Block

Every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday my reading block group do activities for reading block. On Monday's my group does computer corner, on Tuesday's we do independent reading, on Wednesday's we do word games and on Thursdays we do guided reading.

Computer Corner= Spending time on our portfolio's.
Independant Reading= Read a book and do a reading response on it.
Word Games= Every week Mrs J gets new word games to play like, word searches or other stuff.
Guided Reading= Our groups reads a page of a book each and Mrs J helps us if we have trouble.
